TravelInSL is an independent travel guide to Sri Lanka for visitors from overseas and for travellers already on the island. It is run by NYRION (Pvt) Ltd, a company based in Sri Lanka.
What we publish
- Planning guides: entry rules and the ETA, seasons, getting around, safety and costs.
- Destination guides, itineraries and where to stay.
- What is on: festivals, live music, parties and sport, re-checked with organizers before each event.
- Travel updates when an official source announces a change that affects visitors.
Where our information comes from
Every page is written from official and open sources, such as the Department of Immigration and Emigration, the Central Cultural Fund, the Department of Wildlife Conservation, Sri Lanka Railways and the UK government's travel advice. Each page lists the sources it was written from, with the date we last checked them. You can see every source we use, and how often we check it, on our sources page.
Values that change, such as ticket prices, fees and festival dates, are stored once with their source and the date they were confirmed, and shown with an "as of" date wherever they appear.
How pages are made
Pages are drafted with the help of AI from the official sources above, checked claim by claim against those sources, and read by a person before they are published. Our editorial policy explains the process, what we will not publish, and how we correct mistakes.
Independence
We do not accept payment to change what a guide says. If we ever earn a commission from a link, or show a paid event listing, it is labelled clearly; see our affiliate disclosure. The site is funded by advertising.
